MOMENTUM is a compilation of SPEED EDITS.
SPEED EDITS are digital collages and Dadaist poems created in one hour. Collages are made from “digital waste” – the surplus of photographs and screen captures on our phones – inside Adobe Express.
Definition: Digital waste refers to all latent data that is captured, stored and sent. Old photos, unnecessary messages, advertising emails and internet downloads, among other things. All this activity emits tonnes of CO2 that pollute the planet.
The collages are multi-layered, opaque and transparent, recolored image compilations. The processes render the originating images unrecognizable as they merge into an amorphous, textured field of visual information. Each collage is a vibe – an aura.
The associated prose responds to, contextualizes, and counters the visual information.
This book doesn’t make sense; it isn’t supposed to. It exists; it’s something to see, read, and respond to.
